FRANCISTOWN YOUTH URGED INTO POTATO FORMING

The youth of Francistown have been urged to venture into potato farming as a unit to avoid any possible future failures which may occur when getting into it as individuals.

Francistown Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Itekeng Ward, Mr. Lesego Kwambala encouraged young people to group themselves and draw up projects they can work on together as a team to improve their lives, create jobs for other youth, contribute to the value chain development and help the country realise food security.

“As youth, we have failed and if we cannot admit that we have failed, nothing will be achieved,” said Mr. Kwambala.

The founder and executive president of Farmer’s Pride International Investments Mr Elfas Zadzagomo encouraged the youth to have a strict mindset of a farmer and urban farming will help create employment, support social movements, build the community and bring development.

Mr Zadzagomo further advised the youth to go into food processing, sell products and their by-products and look into moringa farming as it is valuable as it could be harvested for more than 62 years and the plant had multiple uses such as water purification.
