Botswana has many musicians mainly House-Kwasa musicians who are making money from their craft just like their counterparts in other African countries.

Below are some of the richest musicians in Botswana.

Vee Mampeezy – $10 million

Odirile Sento, better known by his stage name Vee Mampeezy and has been in the music scene for the past 20 years and has been dominating the entertainment by winning several music awards and has been nominated for the 2017 Metro FM Awards and One Africa Awards. He has worked alongside South African producer Godfrey “Guffy” Pilane, Jack Bohloko who is now based in South Africa, he featured Makhadzi, DJ Call Me. His main source of income is from his music career and the private businesses he owns. Mampeezy successful career has earned him some of the luxurious lifestyle and some of the fancy cars like Mercedes Benz G-Wagon, BMW. He is one of the richest and influential musicians in Botswana.

WILLIAM LAST KRM- 1 million

Bofelo William Molebatsi aka William last KRM became internet famous because his skits are so palatable and resonate with millions across the internet, William makes a substantial amount of his money from this art. International superstars such as Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, and Nicki Minaj have shared his comedy skits on their platforms solidifying just how good he is at his craft. In addition to being a comedian, William is also a motswako rapper. The musician began his music career making and releasing songs on his YouTube even before he went viral with his skits. The rapper has collaborated with several other local stars such as Veezo, Mpho Sebina and Dato Seiko, released numerous songs and is said to be working on an album. Zeus – $5 million

Game Goabaone Bantsi, better known by his stage name Zeus, is a Motswana hip-hop artist, MC, and businessman. Zeus released his debut album Freshly Baked in 2008 which included the hits “Back in the days” and “Gijima”. A fan favorite, Zeus owes part of his wealth to the many endorsement and campaign deals he has gotten with big companies like Sony and some local telecommunications giants in Botswana among others. He is a veteran rapper that has shaped the history of Botswana’s hip hop culture to date. Zeus is a television host on popular youth television channel, Ytv. The ‘Gijima’ hitmaker has been laying low on the music scene, but is still notably one of Botswana’s biggest artists to date and still continues to produce quality music tracks. Magadeline Lesolobe, best known by her stage name Charma Gal, is a musician that has worked tirelessly over the years to build her brand whilst also branching out into her different money making entrepreneurial business ventures. Consequently, her efforts and hard work have paid off, and according to several online sources, Charma Gal’s net worth sits at an estimated 1 million USD. Katlego Kai Kolanyane-Kesupile is a performance artist, musician, writer and LGBT activist from Botswana. She is known for being the first public figure from the country to openly identify as a transgender person. She is also the first person from Botswana to be named a TED Fellow.

Sasa Klaas – $500,000

Sarona Motlhagodi, known professionally as Sasa Klaas, she was an all-around musician mostly known for her hip-hop. She made her debut with her hit single Mma Mongwato.

Mpho Sebina – $1.5 million

Mpho Sebina is a songwriter and a singer famously known for her songs “Too Late for Mama”, Dikeledi just to mention a few. He sound is fusion of hip-hop, soul, jazz, traditional Setswana music and folklore. She has shared the stage with the likes of HHP, Fresh Ground, Shekinah, Nnunu Ramogotsi, Louis Mhalanga just to name a few.
