60TH DIGITAL SCHOOL LAUNCHED BY ORANGE BOTSWANA

Through Orange Foundation, Orange Botswana’s mandate of closing the digital divide in the country continues as Orange announced its digital schools programme to Moreomaoto Primary School which is in the Boteti district.

The digital school kit donated to Moreomaoto Primarty School will assist learners with in their studies, giving them access to the opportunities and educational enrichment available through digital technology.

“We recognize the importance of education for all citizens of Botswana, and with that we have aligned all our efforts to promote quality education with the Vision 2036 that emphasizes education and skills as a basis for human resource development,” said the Director Legal and Corporate Affairs, Lepata Mafa.

The programme addresses issues of digital inclusion by leveraging technology to improve access to education. The donation made to the school  included 50 tablets, 2 raspberry pie web servers preloaded with content, 50 headphones, 1 projector and 1 projector screen, 1 laptop and 1 printer.

In the Boteti West constituency, Vice President and Member of Parliament for Boteti West, Slumber Tsogwane received donations made by Orange Botswana including 5 laptops and 5 printers. He further expressed gratitude for the opportunities presented by Orange Botswana and their fight to close digital division.

The Digital Schools Programme is further to the extended beyond secondary schools.
