KINGS OF JO’BURG SEASON 2 RETURNS

Kings of Jo'burg season 2 is now streaming on Netflix.

After the tragic death of Shona Ferguson from COVID-19 complications, he played Simon Masire on the celebrated Kings of Jo’burg leaving questions lingering in viewers’ minds on how the show is going to continue without him.

In the last episode of the Netflix series, Mogomotsi “Mo” Masire (played by Zolisa Xaluva) pulled a trigger towards his brother played by the late Shona for sacrificing his son to the mermaid leaving viewers with their mouths on the floor.

With the second season of the show which is currently streaming on Netflix, questions that have been lingering in the viewers minds will finally be answered after all this time.

In an interview with Newzroom Afrika’s Duduzile Ramela, Connie Ferguson said the show was about to go into pre-production when her husband, Shona, passed on. The scripts had already been approved and were about to go into pre-production when they contracted Covid-19.

In season 2, the Masire family returns to pick up the pieces and maintain their position as the rulers of the city of gold, with Mogomotsi at the helm of the Masire family following Simon’s sudden and untimely disappearance.

“So we went back, got together with Sabelo our writer for Kings of Jo’burg – and he was very excited about how he could redirect the script. I think we managed to come up with an exciting story that people will be excited to watch. We’re excited for them to see Kings of Jo’burg season 2,” she said.
