TAKING SERONGA TO WASHINGTON D.C
In 2021, Koolkat Motyiko the hitmaker behind “Ko Seronga” released a banger advertising his home village and getting people to know about Seronga in a form of a song explaining how people are united and their way of life.
Koolkat Motyiko (Thato Kavinja) will be travelling to Washington DC, USA to attend the National Geographic Storytellers Summit this month. Mr Seronga, as he is affectionately called, is the NEWF Compose Yourself Lab Fellow.
“The tagline from where my music career started in April 2021 was “From SERONGA to the World” and now it’s happening on a higher note. All the way to the capital of the most powerful nation in the world,” said Koolkat.
The NEWF Compose Yourself Lab Fellow pulls together musicians from across the continent and its main mission to diversify the soundscapes of African wildlife documentaries. It is currently based in Maun where they have been working with Koolkat and Prince Bogosi.
