BOTSWANA EMBRACES 5G TECHNOLOGY

Orange Botswana on Friday launched the 5G technology which is aimed on opening up an in-depth of market opportunities in Botswana.

Speaking at the 5G technology launch, the President of Botswana, Dr Mokgweetsi Eric Masisi said that the 5G technology will offer opportunities for businesses, citizens and the government. He also mentioned that the technology will ensure solutionist thinking to enhance every Motswana’s ability to communicate and connect, it will also facilitate transformation of agricultural services, health care and other essential services.

“ICT aids our economy, be it the financial services sector, health care sector and the communications space. For individuals, organisations and businesses, we are able to be more efficient, more connected and more empowered to do more, deliver more and create more,” said Masisi.

President Masisi said ICT, together with the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), worked together to ensure and provide government and the private sector with possibilities of improvement in efficiency, productivity, economic growth and the wellbeing of society. This digitalisation is the third priority in the Reset Agenda.
