TRADITIONAL MUSIC CELEBRATED

Traditional music was celebrated Botswana’s culture with a dash of traditional dance and poetry under the theme “Urban meets Traditional” during the 19th edition of the Traditional Expo hosted by Botswana Insurance Fund Management (BIFM) in Gaborone.

The BIFM chief executive officer, Neo Bogatsu mentioned during the event that the expo allowed music lovers time to relax and connect with the rich local music roots adding that supporting the creative industry would help performers reap positive results and grow their crafts. It also celebrated Botswana creative sector.

Main organiser and also Footprints Advertising marketing director, Losika Seboni said the expo contributed ALOT to the growth of the country’s cultural capacity and allowed room for traditional music to be grow and be known not only in Botswana, but internationally as well.

Guests who came dressed in their fine traditional attire were kept on their feet by a variety of artists such as Dilo Makwati Dance Troupe, Ubuntu Band, Maritalekoma Choir, Abed, Tripple R, Boroko Kgoo, Bangu, Dr Vom also came in with his popular hit Tsaya Thobane and the Setswana based rapper ATI wrapped the cultural filled evening with an exceptional performance. The night was driven by media personality Big Fish.
