Jagdish Shah: all about the millionaire’s business interests. A number of people probably workout at Jack’s gym and are clueless about the Jack in question. The chain of gym and fitness centers in Botswana boasts of seven centers in and around Gaborone, one in Palapye and others to be established in the near future. This is only but one of the business tycoon’s long list of business ventures and interests in Botswana.

Shah’s wealth is unmatched with business interests extending further to the international market in countries such as the USA, Dubai, India, South Africa and Namibia. In Dubai and India, his businesses are in property; in USA he has invested in hotels and motels. Shah has ownership rights for Winchester Properties, which owns a portfolio of properties in warehouses in Francistown. Moreover, his business ventures include IT company Zebra Net, CA Sales Distribution Centre in Gaborone, and a collection of lodges.

The millionaire further owns an advertising company, cattle ranch, and a game viewing and hunting farm in a 14-hectare land in Ghanzi. He is also in possession of a 40% stake in the Premier League football club, Township Rollers as of January 2013 which he supports 100% financially. The investment in the football fraternity was motivated by his vision to transform the status quo based of the firm belief that his involvement in the local football scene will go a long way in bringing some professionalism to the sport.

Shah is the current ruling party, the Botswana Democratic Party’s Deputy Treasurer. He successfully attained citizenship but is originally from India. He remains one of Botswana’s well established and rich entrepreneurs. His rise up the ladder of wealth can be traced down to his earliest company CA Sales and Distribution which was co-founded by himself and Ian Thompson back in 1993.
