HOW MOJELA DOMINATES IN MINING

The game changer, Vuyiswa Mojela is the founder of Soapbox Communications, who shattered the glass ceiling and the taboo as a diversified 100% female owned dominating company with more than a decade experience in Botswana’s mining and she also remains the first and only woman to host Mining Exhibitions in Botswana. She was awarded the Women in STEM of the Year Award in 2022 by Africa Startup Ecosystems Builders Summit & Awards.

Soapbox Communications hosted the first-ever mining show in Botswana in 2013 and continues to host the same annually and has organized one of the country’s premier exhibitions called 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗨𝗽 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵, which is held annually in Francistown since its inaugural edition in 2018. The sumup of the exhibitions is to present the latest technologies and equipment in mining, services, machinery for Mines, Manufacturing and Construction Industries in exploration, excavation, processing, production and export as well as introducing investment opportunities in Botswana.

The show also seeks to help Botswana link up with a broad spectrum of countries and create a broad knowledge platform in minerals development, hence groom a better Botswana Mining, Manufacturing & Construction Sectors. Mojela founded 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗨𝗽 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 with the objective of creating Botswana’s most interesting meeting place for people who work in the Mining, Manufacturing & Construction sectors.

“It brings companies closer to customers. It’s an opportunity for companies to share what they can offer. It’s an opportunity for contractors and buyers to meet with stakeholders in a pleasant setting,” said Mojela.

In 2023, Trade Up North show returns and will be held in Jwaneng Rugby Club for the first time on the 21st of February 2023 at Jwaneng Rugby Club and will be held under the theme: “𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙪𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙀𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙘 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩” and it shall also feature international speakers.
