HB ANTWERP TO OPEN DOORS IN BOTSWANA
Having attended the Global Expo in Gaborone which was held from the 1st of November to the 4th November 2022, HB Botswana/Antwerp is to open doors in Botswana at the Diamond Park in Gaborone in December as operations are anticipated to begin next year January 2023.
HB Antwerp’s setting up the branch in Botswana was part of the pledge made to the government that once the ecosystem was established and fully operational in Belgium, they would bring the same knowledge based transformation in the country.
HB Antwerp is a technology based company focused on diamonds which is in Antwerp and uses technology to broaden the concept of transparency with a focus on end-to-end supply chain management and challenges of the global diamond supply chain. The company is aimed to building a digital infrastructure and creating jobs by 2025 with pioneers who will be trained in Belgium with the required skills.
The Managing Partner and founder Mr Rafael Papismedov mentioned that currently, the renovation of the new facility at Diamond Park which is over 1300 square meters was about to be completed and shall house laser cutting, scanning, plotting, and robotics as well as an academy for diamond polishers.
In August, 30 young Batswana made it for the HB Antwerp training in Belgium and the first 15 graduated from the programme. The programme accepts graduates and students from STEAM, humanities and business fields to develop management positions which make up the company and supporting the marketing, branding and collection of diamonds.
