Press Release: Phase Two Vaccination Resumes Today-MoHW
The Ministry of Health and Wellness informs members of the public that COVID-19 vaccination will resume from today in different places across the country. This follows the arrival of Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines in the country a few days ago.
Districts Health Management Teams (DHMTs) like Kgalagadi South, Kgalagadi North, North East, Boteti, Selebi Phikwe, Greater Lobatse and Okavango will have resumed vaccination by lunch time today. Other districts like Kgatleng, Chobe, Serowe/Palapye, Mahalapye, Southern, Greater Francistown and Greater Gaborone will be resuming the vaccination process on Friday 24th September 2021. As already indicated, the vaccination roll out program is in Phase two which covers those aged 30 to 54 years old. However, the focus for now will be on finishing up the 45 to 54 year olds after which the ministry will announce the movement to the lower ages. Although most vaccination sites remain the same as at the time the vaccination process was temporarily halted, DHMTs will communicate further details with their local communities so that everyone knows when and where they can go to get their jab in their area, including the names of private facilities that have been engaged.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully
